Description
The exchange between the calcium ions of the dressing and the sodium ions of the exudates results in the formation of a gel which absorbs the exudates and traps bacteria and organic debris which will be eliminated with the alginate fibres when the dressing is renewed.
Indications: superficial and deep wounds , heavily exuding , in the exudation and granulation phase, such as :
bedsores .
ulcers of different origins ( venous , arterial ).
diabetic feet .
skin graft donor and recipient sites.
post-operative wounds .
