High absorption capacity of natural calcium alginate and the antimicrobial action of silver.
The properties of Suprasorb® A + Ag correspond to those of the calcium alginate dressing Suprasorb® A. The silver ions released upon contact with exudates exert their activity directly on the wound surface through the formation of alginate gel.
Suprasorb® A + Ag combines the advantages of Suprasorb® A with those of the calcium alginate/silver combination: broad antimicrobial spectrum, usable in cases of obvious clinical infections, effective against MRSA and VRE. Bacteria and germs are trapped in the gel and destroyed.
